For your consideration……

We often call today’s society the one of “instant gratification.” We want what we want when we want it. Technology has made the “now” a reality in many cases.

Yesterday I had an extra hour and helped out in the Media Center.  I was sorting books for relevance and value to students today. It is shocking to see how much changes in technology and geography in such a short period of time. New discoveries and new borders seem to be in a constant state of flux.

Change seems to be happening at warp speed and often that is a benefit. Breakthroughs in medicine and technology have given us reason to expect, want and HOPE for more. That is good. It is all good.

But there is a flip side. (Isn’t there always?) And that is today’s message.

The flip side to instant gratification is the lack of anticipation. We are reminded that anticipation builds suspense, HOPE and excitement. Anticipation expands all of those things often making us so much more appreciative when the actual moment arrives.

Don’t be frustrated. Enjoy and be grateful for the anticipation.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE actin steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray….ask…..”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Let moments develop. Let the anticipation grow them.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Great students…..two different schools.

-The sun has created a shining ice layer on top of the snow. Every yard looks like it is covered in smooth sparkling fondant.

-Catching up with John.

-Joy.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
