For your consideration…..

Today our attention is drawn the power of the written word. I am not surprised this came up as a message. It is one of those things that my attention has been drawn to a lot lately. My youngest daughter on deployment and I have talked about it and then it came up again yesterday in a DVD I showed a music class.

Jake Shimabukuro, an international ukulele player, talks about falling in love while being away so many months on tour. He talks about the commitment to his craft while at the same time sacrificing the time with those he loves. He goes on to talk about realizing the power of the written word in growing his love for his now wife.

People all over the world probably write now more ever due to texting, posting on Facebook, Instagram and Tweeting. The internet has created an avenue for “instant” communication of our written word. We can instantly communicate which is really amazing. The problem is that we can and often communicate in writing, before we have thoroughly thought out our words. We probably all know of feuds started by something written on the internet. We have all heard the saying, “Think before you speak.” The same goes for writing. Before you send out to the world a written communication, think.

There is a healing process I have often used and highly recommend. We talk about letting go of what no longer serves us. In this healing process we write down, commit to paper, what we need to let go of. We focus on it and then burn it focusing on releasing it and letting it go for healing. Why does this work? It works because writing things down, committing them to paper, carries the energy of those words.

Yes, written words carry energy. They have the power of that energy. We have probably all seen movies or HOPEfully know of people who have saved love letters. The written word in those letters carried, fueled and preserved the feelings of one person to another. They added to the foundation of that relationship.

For good or bad, what we commit to paper births our feelings and releases our energy to the Universe. We are reminded not only to think before we write but to use our written word to perpetuate the light of love, joy and HOPE.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Use the power of your written word for your highest good and the highest good of all. Write and share your love with those you love.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Playing in the snow while it was still falling.

-Windshield washers.

-It is March. Mother Nature has a spring in store for us, we can be sure.

-Learning new things about Egyptian mummies.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
