For your consideration……

“I”…..is what we are being asked to consider today. Our attention is drawn to how straight and tall the letter “I” is.

We are asked throughout our life to be willing to bend and give….. adjust and go with the flow. It helps us and others be successful in life. While that is necessary, it can mislead us if we are not careful.

When it comes to our authentic self there are things that are never meant to be bent or compromised. The essence of who we are is sacred. It is who we are contracted with God to be. That “I” is perfect exactly as it was designed and birthed.

Today we are asked to be still and think about who our authentic self is and what does it stand for? Who is “I?” What does “I” know to be true? What does “I” believe in? What are the things that are deal breakers for “I”? What principals makes  “I” hold true andcringe when they are compromised? What makes “I” love and what does “I” love? etc. etc. etc.

We may not get this task all done today. We are not asked to. We are being asked to begin a conscious effort to know who we truly are and what we stand for. We are being asked to get to know our authentic self….“I.”

Consider this investment of time an actual time savings because if we truly know “I” we will be less likely to disappoint it. If we stop and think about it, most of what makes us unhappy in life is when we have not done things or responded to them in a way that is true to who we really are. We have disappointed ourselves. If we are fully conscious of “I,” we will be more likely to avoid those pitfalls.

We are being asked today to invest in getting to know our “I.”

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Invest in “I.”

What made me smile yesterday……

-A wonderful class of students.

-A smooth trip to Stillwater with the sun shining brightly all the way.

-Watching the St. Clair River clogged with ice.

-Watching the USA and Canada Coast Guard cutters working together to free a freighter stuck in the ice.

-A visit with my Stillwater neighbors, Scott and Holly.

-Talking with Cathy. We are getting sooooo excited for our short little vacation.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
