For your consideration……

We have all endured some of life’s lessons the hard way. We have at times learned the hard way.

Today’s message tells us that there is no shame in that. There is no need to hide them. We have earned our lessons and paid for them. They are our’s to pass on and share. We can help others avoid making the same mistakes.

“I’ve learned that life’s lessons never end and wisdom can always be passed on.” mediawebapps.com

How we share our lessons is important. Remember when we were teenagers and thought all adults were stupid? In the spring when I teach poetry and talk to students about the beauty and use of it, I can feel the “You must be kidding vibes” from them. So I h ave a couple of  personal stories I share with them. Each year as I admit my own vulnerability and tell a couple of stories on how I wrote a poem as a way of communicating a lesson or expressing a feeling, you can hear a pin drop in the classroom.

The point is we want to create an environment that invites people to listen and hear. We are asked today to become good “Storytellers.” Everyone loves a good story and it is a non-threatening way to communicate a lesson learned.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray….ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be generous with your “lessons learned.”

What made me smile yesterday….

-A beautiful fall day…..big moon at night and sun in the day.

-A half-day off.

-An afternoon nap which hardly ever happens.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
