“Learn To Be Still” Eagles

It’s just another day in paradise
As you stumble to your bed
You’d give anything to silence
Those voices ringing in your head
You thought you could find happiness
Just over that green hill
You thought you would be satisfied
But you never will-
Learn to be still

We are like sheep without a shepherd
We don’t know how to be alone
So we wander ’round this desert
And wind up following the wrong gods home
But the flock cries out for another
And they keep answering that bell
And one more starry-eyed messiah
Meets a violent farewell-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

Now the flowers in your garden
They don’t smell so sweet
Maybe you’ve forgotten
The heaven lying at your feet

There are so many contradictions
In all these messages we send
(We keep asking)
How do I get out of here
Where do I fit in?
Though the world is torn and shaken
Even if your heart is breakin’
It’s waiting for you to awaken
And someday you will-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

You just keep on runnin’
Keep on runnin’

For your consideration……
Yeah another day where we are given a song to lead us to our message. I feel like we get this message in some form fairly often. We are encouraged each day to pray and/or meditate. The point is to “be still” and learn to listen and hear our Guidance. Everyone has this ability.

There are a couple of other reasons why I love today’s message. The first one being a practical suggestion on learning to be still. For those who have trouble meditating or even those who don’t but have trouble keeping the peace and calm we get from it with us throughout the day, we are told to use our electronics. Yes, we are told that we can use our electronics to help train ourselves to listen to our soul and Guidance. We are asked to set up regular alarms on our phone….1-2 hour increments. When our alarm chimes we are to pause, take some deep breaths and be still for a few moments. These moments in stillness will recenter us.

Who knew that our Guidance was up to date with electronics? That’s the another reason I love this message. It shows us how “in tune” our Guidance is with us.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

For your consideration……

-Meditate/pray….ask….”What is me next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Set up some “learn to be still” alarms on your phone etc.

What made me smile yesterday……

-An unexpected visit with Dianne, Gary and Bob. Lots of fun and laugh out loud moments and touching ones as well.

-I tried my new pressure cooker. It was a life saver.

-SKYPing with Alex. She got to join our party for a bit.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
