A Work in Progress...“I am what I am, and what I am is a work in progress.”  E. E Baker

For your consideration……

I love today’s message for everything that it is. It gives us pause to think of where we are, where we have been and dream where we may be in our future.

There is a reason we are reminded of this today. Sometimes we want to drag our feet a little. We hesitate to start new things…new journeys…..because we are novices and don’t really know what we are doing yet. But if we pause and think back, we have been novices many times before. We began at the beginning, we learned and we became proficient.

Everything new is a progressive journey. It adds to who we are. It is a building block to where we are going.

Don’t be scared. Be excited. We are a work in progress.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Drink lots of water.

-Meditate/pray….ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. In fact, spend as much time out-of-doors as possible.

-Listen to what surrounds you.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Very funny laugh out loud emails from Alex.

-Walking Cathy through Facebook. Really it is like the blind leading the blind. But hey, we are works in progress right?

-Sitting outside and writing, basking in the sun.

-If God said, “Chris, you get to pick the weather for tomorrow. Think about it and let me know what you want it to be.”

“That’s easy.” I’d respond.

“I want it to be just like yesterday. Let me wake up to sunshine. Let the sun shine and warm the day. Give us a little breeze so we can sit out without getting too hot. Then when the sun sets. Bring us a thunderstorm to water  Mother Earth. Give us a lightning show to light up the night. Then when it is bedtime, please shut off the lightning and turn the rain down to a pitter-patter to lull us to sleep. When the beautiful sun is ready to rise, turn off the rain so that I might see her bright sunny face when I wake up. Thank you for asking. Thank you for yesterday. “

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
