For your consideration….

It feels like there is a lot of stress out there. Perhaps it is the end of summer blues. Perhaps it is kids getting back to school and the challenge of getting back on a smooth schedule. Perhaps it is work. Perhaps it is the news.

Whatever it is, our message today says that it is just a hiccup. When I heard that, I immediately thought about Pete the Cat from the children’s story book. No matter what happens Pete in each of his stories, we are asked. “Does Pete worry about that?” And the answer is always “Goodness NO!” Pete just takes it all in stride and singing his song.

Worry is senseless and unproductive. It is just a hiccup. We need to just keep “singing our song” marching to the beat of our own drum.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water. Goodness in this heat this is an easy one.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Keep on singing your song.

What made me smile yesterday……

-During rest time listening to a lengthy piece of classical music one of the student’s calls me over and says, “When is this song going to be over?”

-One of the students evidently waited too long to go to the rest room and was calling out for an emergency go. The restroom in the room was full so I took him down the hall. His legs could not be more than 2 feet tall. Still I couldn’t keep up with him as he rushed down the hall with his legs held together and his feet doing double time.

-“Ms. Adams,” as student asked, “Did you know the highest number is infinity?” I replied, “Did you know their was a symbol for infinity?” I immediately had the attention of four students who hunted up a stick so I could draw it for them in the dirt.

-Getting home and into the air conditioning.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
