“Put Me In Coach” by John Fogerty

Well, beat the drum and hold the phone – the sun came out today!
We’re born again, there’s new grass on the field.
A-roundin’ third, and headed for home, it’s a brown-eyed handsome man;
Anyone can understand the way I feel.

Oh, put me in, Coach – I’m ready to play today;
Put me in, Coach – I’m ready to play today;
Look at me, I can be Centerfield.

Well, I spent some time in the Mudville Nine, watchin’ it from the bench;
You know I took some lumps when the Mighty Casey struck out.
So Say Hey Willie, tell Ty Cobb and Joe DiMaggio;
Don’t say “it ain’t so”, you know the time is now.

Yeah! I got it, I got it!

Got a beat-up glove, a homemade bat, and brand-new pair of shoes;
You know I think it’s time to give this game a ride.
Just to hit the ball and touch ’em all – a moment in the sun;
It’s gone and you can tell that one goodbye!

Yeah!

For your consideration…….

I love when I am given a song to take me to our message but I must admit that I will be relieved when I finish today and this song leaves my head. You know how that is when lyrics are stuck and play over and over again. “Put me in the game, coach. I’m ready to play.” is stuck in my head.

Still I have to laugh because it reminds me that our Guidance….God, Angel, Archangels etc…… are our true partners each and every moment and they have a sense of humor.

Today’s message was delivered with a fun song to encourage us to join God’s army of lightworkers to help make our world a better place. They did not give us a lecture, stern warning or coercion. Instead they are gently and playfully asking us to join the game.

There are no coincidences. If you are here, you are meant to be a lightworker. You are being asked to step up to the plate and do what you can….anyway you can…..to initiate change.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray……ask….”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Step up your game. Be a change for good when ever you feel an opportunity.

What made me smile yesterday……

-A beautiful gentle rain during the night and early morning.

-Our conservation club celebrated 75 years yesterday.

-Jody and I have been talking about canning during the last couple of day. No coincidences, Carol asked if I wanted to take a canning class. Oh yeah….meant to be.

-Bob and Jody for dinner…..always fun and chill.

-Talking with Alex. I laughed for hours after every time I replayed the conversation.

-Alex’s home improvement picture. Wow!

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
