Calling

“Calling” by Josephine Wall

For your consideration…..

Please do not shoot the messenger. It seems we have yet another task. Again, we are to be active participants in today’s message as we are given the question “What do you need?” “Really? On a Friday could we just have a free uplifting message,” I asked? In answer to my question I was told, “Every day of the week whenever a student simply says, “I don’t understand.” You ask them to get specific and form a question.”

It is true. Any one can throw up their hands and say, “I don’t understand or I can’t.” It is lazy way out. My mom used to say, “God helps those who help themselves.” We need to be active participants in our life if we want to achieve our life purpose and happiness. It is a partnership with our Guidance. We each do our share of the hard work.

The question is, “What do you need?” Be specific. What is our rock in the road or hiccup? What do we need help with? Is it…..

-More fun or down time.

-Less downtime and more fun.

-Less anxieity and fear.

-More confidence and courage.

-Career change.

-Advancement in career.

-More friends.

-More alone time.

-More exercise and will power to do it.

-Better health.

You get the picture. What is it exactly we need help with? Journal it. Look at it. Now get still and ask for it.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…….

-Meditate/pray…..use the stillness to focus on what you need.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Evaluate where you are, where you want to go and what you need to get there. Now ask for it.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Sunshine and warm temps at Stillwater.

-A great dinner with Jackie.

-Great pictures from my vacationing Gordon family.

-My Alex had a great and successful flying day. It was a big challenge and test for her. I WAS very specific when I asked for Blessings for her yesterday and I was so happy when I got her text…”Passed! We really stirred things up. It is a good story.” Words that made this mother grateful, proud and relieved.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
