For your consideration…….

Phases….Today the moon is held before us as an example of phases…..life phases. We often think about phases of life in relationship to age. But everything has a phase as defined by Divine Timing and Divine Purpose. Today’s message specifically focusesĀ  on mourning.

Hey, no one minds when we make it to the other side of a challenging time in our life. But we do mourn when we lose something we love i.e.; jobs, homes, relationships, people etc. Mourning is a natural process. In some ways it is a way to honor something or someone we loved.

However, we are reminded that like the moon everything has a phase, a waning and waxing, but it never really goes away. The moon always rises in a new sky. We can count on it.

When we lose someone we love, the love is like the moon. It is always there. It rises in a new way…..a new sky…..but is as strong as it ever was if not stronger. We mourn what we can not see with our eyes, hold with our arms and hear with our ears. Our loved one rises in a new way and speaks to us through our higher senses. They speak to us through our thoughts, we hear them in our heart, we feel them as they surround us. They are not really gone. Our love is in a new phase thal continues to evolve and grow.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…….

-Meditate/pray…..listen to the silence.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

-Honor your mourning but remember it is a phase.

What made me smile yesterday…….

-An unexpected snow day and day off of school.

-Once again the yard is beautiful blanketed in white.

-A quick trip to Detroit to get my corned beef for St. Patrick’s Day.

-Lunch with Carol.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
