For your consideration…….

We all know how important it is for children to take a break, take a nap, spend some downtime, get recess etc. How much and what kind of break evolves as we age up. At some point it is no longer a “requirement”. Instead it takes a back seat to virtually everything else. Today the question is why?

By law, workers are entitled to breaks but rarely are they required to take them. Again, as with virtually everything, we have personal responsibility.

We are reminded today that breaks or pauses are good. It is good to take a step back, catch our breath and refocus……or even take a fresh look. Downtime is good. Disengaging and pausing gives us time to let go of what is no longer serving us. It creates fresh creative space.

Too often the perception is that the better worker is one who doesn’t stop….doesn’t take breaks. That is wrong thinking. Pausing and focusing within allows us to hear the Guidance we need.

Take a break. Pause.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE actions steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray……add a couple mini meditations to the middle of your day.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Breath in the new and fresh and release all that is old and no longer serves you.

-Commit to pausing.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Ahhhh warm temps and sun.

-Thank yous.

-A little nap.

-A good book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
