Turn! Turn! Turn! (to Everything There Is a Season)

by The Byrds.

To everything – turn, turn, turn
There is a season – turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

To everything – turn, turn, turn
There is a season – turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together

To everything – turn, turn, turn
There is a season – turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time of war, a time of peace
A time of love, a time of hate
A time you may embrace
A time to refrain from embracing

To everything – turn, turn, turn
There is a season – turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time of peace, I swear it’s not too late!

For your consideration……

We are asked today to embrace the rhythm of life. The seasons of life may repeat themselves but they are never exactly the same. They are unique unto themselves. No two seasons and no two moments are the same.

Each and every moment serves a purpose. Each and every moment offers us opportunity to shine and grow…..or not. We can choose to learn from history…..or not. We can choose to learn the lessons we learned…. or not.

It is up to us to look at each moment in each season as it presents itself and rather than judge it, unconditionally accept it and make it shine.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…..digest what you have learned and ask for next steps.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Be joyous. Laugh at loud.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Kindergarteners dancing to “Tooty Ta” dance video. I am not sure if it was appropriate for a teacher to laugh out loud but I just couldn’t help it. Way to cute.

-A nice long ride to Stillwater…a chance to decompress.

-Sunshine and over 30 degree weather.

-A great picture from Alex’s flight.

-Catching up with Jody and Cathy. Remember when it was outrageously expensive to call long distance?

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
