For your consideration…….

Well, today’s message was somewhat of a surprise. But as it was explained, I get it and it is so true.

“There’s light at the end of the tunnel.” When we hear that, it is a “pep talk” or meant to bring optimism. But our message today says that is false. It is exactly the opposite. It is affirming pessimism.

When we talk about “light at the end of the tunnel” we are implying that it is in the future. We are implying that our difficulty will eventually be over. We are implying that we are in darkness but down the road we will find light.

Today we are told that nothing could be further from the truth. We can have light whenever we choose. We are always entitled to light. It is promised to us. It is the crux of our faith and HOPE.

Whenever we have trouble, difficulty, sadness, distress etc., we may see and feel only darkness because it is such a stark contrast to the comfort of our “normal” life. It is a shift. It is a change. It is something we would not have picked. It is something we did not want to experience. Yet we have and the darkness surrounds us.

But that darkness is as temporary as we choose it to be. In our darkness when we are feeling so powerless, it is hard to remember how powerful we really are. We can use our power and choose light at any moment. We have that power. We always have access to help and light….24/7. We are NEVER alone. Our Guidance is always with us. They never want to take a backseat but abide by our free will. We should never be shy inviting them into our life. Indeed we should make them part of every decision. We should talk to them constantly throughout our day. We need to learn to recognize their voice and listen to them. When we are in lockstep with our Guidance, we are never in darkness.

We are asked today…..reminded today….to never accept darkness. Accept the help of our Guidance. Choose light.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps…..

-Meditate/pray…..Learn to listen to your authentic self that is in touch with our Guidance.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Ask today….each day…..that your Guidance lift your burdens and guide your choices towards your life’s purpose.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Beautiful snow.

-It was a rough ride but I got Mary and Don to the airport and their plane made it out.

-A great Artist’s fair at the Corner Brewery.

-Running into friends and catching up.

-A new hat great for snowy days and school recesses.

-A warm toasty bed on a snowy snowy night.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
