For your consideration……
Today’s message is not really about icing a cake. It is an analogy for using this season to put our finishing touches to the year 2013.
We are busy….very busy during the holiday season. It is the same every year and every year we have choices. Do we want to let this year end in a mad rush? Or do we want to end it smoothly and peacefully? Do we want to have meaning in the season? Or do we want to sail through it on automatic? Do we want to make meaningful choices? Or do we want to fulfill obligations? Do we want love and joy to dominate the season? Or do we want anxiety and stress? Do we want simplicity? Or do we want complexity? Do we want artificial? Or do we want truth?
You get the picture. We can finish out this year any way we want. We have a choice. We always have a choice.
We are being asked to make a conscious effort to choose a beautiful finish to 2013 and top it with our love, HOPE, joy and peace.
That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……
-Meditate/pray…..focus on your purpose and what you really want.
-Drink lots of water.
-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.
-Write….not just journal….write complete or partial thoughts and ideas. Never be without a notepad.
What made me smile yesterday……
-My daughter and I…..
-Went to breakfast with our neighbor, Joan.
-Visited Mary.
-Went to ATT and got AJ’s phone fixed.
-Went to Barnes and Noble and got books we were looking for.
-Shopped at the new mall.
-Shopped at the old mall and picked up her items from the Cobbler.
-Met Kathy for appetizers and a drink.
-Visited with Jordan after Alex got back from Daina and Bill’s
-Ahhhh, a good productive day.
