“Compass” by Lady Antebellum

Alright
Yeah it’s been a bumpy road
Roller coasters
High and low
Fill the tank and drive the car
Pedal fast, pedal hard
You won’t have to go that far

You wanna give up ’cause it’s dark
We’re really not that far apart
So let your heart, sweet heart
Be your compass when you’re lost
And you should follow it wherever it may go
When it’s all said and done
You can walk instead of run
‘Cause no matter what you’ll never be alone (never be alone) oh oh oh
Never be alone oh oh oh

Forgot directions on your way
Don’t close your eyes don’t be afraid
We might be crazy late at night I can’t wait til you arrive
Follow stars you’ll be alright

You wanna give up ’cause it’s dark
We’re really not that far apart
So let your heart, sweet heart
Be your compass when you’re lost
And you should follow it wherever it may go
When it’s all said and done
You can walk instead of run
‘Cause no matter what you’ll never be alone (never be alone) oh oh oh
Never be alone oh oh oh
You wanna give up ’cause it’s dark
We’re really not that far apart
So let your heart, sweet heart
Be your compass when you’re lost
And you should follow it wherever it may go
When it’s all said and done
You can walk instead of run
‘Cause no matter what you’ll never be alone (never be alone) oh oh oh
Never be alone oh oh oh

When it’s all said and done
You can walk instead of run
‘Cause no matter what you’ll never be alone

For your consideration…….

Well this message has been an adventure so far. All I was hearing was the music to this song…..no words. I recognized the music and could hum it but the only words I knew were “let your heart”. That’s not much to go on. So I finally asked to at least have the artist and just like that, Lady Antebellum was given to me. After that it was easy.

Obviously, I have not really listened to them the words before. But what a beautiful message we are given today via the words to this song. This is a song of reassurance. We are reminded to listen to our heart. Let it be our guide, our compass…..let it take the lead. We forget the power we have within. It is easy to panic and get afraid but we can stop and listen to our heart. We can let it light our way. That is the first reassurance.

The second is that our heart has help 24/7 so never give up. We have access to our Guidance at all times. We are never alone.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…….

-Meditate/pray…..keep that communication open. Learn to listen to within. Learn what it sounds and feels like.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths. Remember, they don’t have to be all at once and it can be while going to and from your car.

-Listen to your heart. Journal what it tells you.

What made me smile yesterday……

-Finishing up last-minute details at home with my family.

-Our family Christmas. It was relaxing, fun and everyone loved their presents.

-Chilling with laughter and happy hearts.

P.S. Happy Birthday, Will!
