From “The Enchanted Map” Oracle Cards

by Collette Baron-Reed

For your consideration……

Just as I thought I would when I got this message for today, I found a bunch of turtle pictures when searching for that “just right”photo to depict the message. Then I found this one and it is just perfect.

Notice her snail bottom. She has no legs to run with yet she is beautiful. She still has wings…. she still has the ability to soar. Yet note the arms folded across her chest. She is surrendering to the moment. She is content with the pace and just to be moving forward. Yet the mask depicts some mystery. She is in the gathering and processing mode. She is not ready to “give too much away”. Maybe she knows where she is going, maybe she doesn’t but she is not ready to declare it to the world. That is what I see when I look at this card. What about you?

Our message today is that there is nothing wrong with slow and steady. It gives us a chance to take good stock. It gives a chance to enjoy the view. It gives us a chance to reflect. It gives us a chance to incorporate the old with the new. It gives us a chance plan. It gives us a chance to choose our best course of action. It gives us a chance to enjoy all that surrounds us.

Make no mistake, “slow and steady” is not an excuse for procrastination. We have to be honest and trust our authentic self when we are being spurred into more action.

On the other hand, being in a constant race to cram as much in as humanly possible does not guarantee the highest and best results. This is often the time when “the baby gets thrown out with the bath water” because it may seem easier and faster to just throw out everything and quickly start over. Indeed it may be quicker but also probably not better. We are always better incorporating the wisdom, knowledge and lessons learned into the next step of life.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray…..listen to your authentic self.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Trust you. Do what is right for you.

What made me smile yesterday……

-I taught some fabulous music students. Well, let’s be honest…..I was the responsible adult in the room and they taught me and each other.

-Some quick shopping done.

-Lunch with my friend Carol.

-A slow and peaceful afternoon and evening.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
