For your consideration……

Last night after I returned from Stillwater, I was sitting in my family room watching TV and talking with my husband. It was getting dark  but out of the corner of my eye something grabbed my attention. When I looked up I saw bright golden sunlight just shining on the very tops of the trees. I grabbed my cell phone to try and capture it. This picture does not do it justice. I called Bruce to come take a look. This beautiful moment was over in a few seconds.

Today in meditation I was reminded of that moment. I was told that it was like God was tucking in Mother Nature and kissing her good night. And I was reminded of how good it felt when as children we were tucked into bed by our parents. Do you remember that? Do you remember how good it feels when you tuck your own children into bed?

Then I was reminded of a visit I made to see my mother in Florida when she was ill. They had a sun porch with a pull out bed. One night Mom came out and said, “Want me to tuck you in Chrissy.” I have to admit my first reaction was to feel silly. But I caved because I really did want her to tuck me in. I was reminded how good that felt. Thanks, Mom, for that. Thank you for reminding me today. (I must admit being reminded of that moment has brought me to tears.)

Next I was reminded of how when I was sick myself, I asked my husband to tuck me in. Funny, he didn’t think it was silly at all and did it joyously. I was reminded of how loved I felt and how much it comforted me.

So here is the message. We are never too old to be tucked into bed and kissed goodnight…..and not just by our loved ones still with us today. No, love is eternal and our loved ones who have passed to the other side, our angels and guides and God are all standing ready to tuck us in and kiss us goodnight. Be still and ask.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray…..be still and feel the love that surrounds you. Pass it on.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Tuck someone in and/or ask to be tucked into bed tonight.

What made me smile yesterday…….

-A beautiful day basking in the sun.

-Finishing a good book.

-That beautiful moment.

-Catching up with Shannon.

-An early bed.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
