For your consideration…….

I have to admit it took me awhile to get clarity on today’s message. I had to ask questions and wait patiently for the clarity.

The message originally was “Beware of the ambient noise.” At first I thought, of course, it makes perfect sense. But then I thought,”Wait, isn’t that exactly what we often listen to help us meditate. Don’t we often use the sounds of gentle water, birds singing, rain etc. to help us slow down and go within?” And the answer is, of course we do. When we find those soothing sounds that help us get still, we have found a gift.

So why the warning?

It is about intention, conscious and unconscious. Sometimes we don’t use ambient noise to go within. Sometimes we use ambient noise to hide out. Sometimes we use ambient noise to keep us from having to face our own truth. And that, no matter what, is a travesty.

We were created  perfect……..exactly as we are needed to be for our own life purpose. We have absolutely nothing to fear from going within.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray…..use ambient noise responsibly.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and enjoy the summer….play….take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Think about what helps take you to your calm center.

-Think about what you are avoiding.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-A relaxing day at home.

-Jordan and Alex waiting with Bruce while I parked the car…..a long way away. Thank you Jordan, our own Alex appreciates you picking up the slack when she can’t be here.

-A beautiful wedding that absolutely was perfect for the couple. Congratulations Courtney and Ryan!

-As the bride and her Dad were waiting to start walking down the aisle, the bride simply said, “Go” when she was ready. No point is wasting words. When it is time it is time. I loved the moment.

-Seeing lots of friends.

-Alex reported that Mary Clare’s wedding on the other side of the country was also fabulous. Congratulations to that happy bride and groom as well.

-Getting to see some of Mac’s championship baseball game.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
