For your consideration……

While we don’t always feel like we do, we always have choices. Indeed choices have gotten us to where we are. So it is important that we are conscious of all we “choose” to bring into our lives.

Today is not so much about the big, bad or unwanted things in our lives as it is about the space they take up. Those little things we have involved ourselves in all add up. And suddenly we do not have time or room to pursue all those things that “enrich” our lives.

How often have we turned away something that we really wanted to do. Maybe it is read a book. Maybe it is to see a concert. Maybe it is to hear a speaker. Maybe it is to take a class. Maybe it is to paint or sing. Maybe it is to take walks in solitude. Maybe it is to meet new friends. Maybe it is to travel. Maybe it is to meditate and pray.

We all have an inkling….an instinct on what we need. How often to we try to satisfy it? How often do we demand time for it? How often do allow ourselves to be subjugated to the wishes and desires of others? Those “whatevers” add up. They take time away from what we truly need to grow and enrich our own lives.

Choosing to take the time to enrich our own lives is not selfish. It is an investment. Us being the very best we can be is the very best way to be of service for the good of mankind.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray….identify those desires.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Make a bucket list.

What made me smile yesterday…….

-Great students.

-A perfect weather day.

-Lunch with Shannon.

-AJ’s phone all set up and ready to go. Whew!

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
