For your consideration……..

Decisions, decisions…we make hundreds of them a day and for most of them we don’t even realize it. But we all find ourselves in those occasional quandaries where we just don’t know what to do. And yes flipping a coin is one way of making them. That can be fun sometimes when the outcome does not carry huge consequences for us. The fact is there is a consequence to everything. We are just more aware in those “big” decisions.

So what about those “big” decisions? This is when it is critical that we ask our ego to step aside….quit talking to us. When we make big decisions, it is imperative that our mind is in sync with our soul….our authentic self. Our authentic self is our truth center and it wants only what is best for us to grow in our life journey. It is our authentic self that is in contact with our Guidance.

You can always tell the side of the decision the authentic self has weighed in on because it always feels like it is rooted in love. Even if it is not the decision you necessarily want, you know it because it feels right and full of love. It “feels” right.

We spend a lot of time trying to bury our feelings or taking feelings out of the decision-making process. Somehow we have developed a culture that supports that. It is often a way to discount women. How many times have we heard, “take the emotions out of it”, “set your feelings aside”, “strictly business” etc? How is that working for us? How has ignoring your “gut” worked for you?

God gave us feelings for a reason. Eliminating them from our decision-making process is like asking someone to run a marathon with one foot tied up or knit with one hand tied behind your back. Our feelings are a tool in our life tool box. Used correctly, we will see magnificent results.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray….be up close and personal with your feelings.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Journal…your feelings, your gratitude, your HOPEs, your dreams.

What made me smile yesterday…….

-A very interesting day at school…..as in feed the snakes day.

-Some sunshine. Color me happy we made it back inside before the sky opened up.

-Laughing with Jackie. Sometimes, what else can you do?

-Talking to both my girls.

-Bad Bob stopped by. He always makes Bruce laugh.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
