For your consideration…..

Today’s message is about pretending…..the pros and cons…..when it is an asset and when it is a detriment.

In our life tool kit we have a tool called “pretending”. This is a great tool because it spurs our creativity. It is a tool we use to “manifest” our desires, HOPEs and dreams.

But like any other tool we can misuse or abuse it. And really that is the message our Guidance wants us to get today. We misuse pretending when we use it as a “band-aid”.

I had to laugh this morning because the example I was given was of an actual situation I had a couple of weeks ago. I was teaching a first grade class when a student got a paper cut and wanted a band-aid. I gave her one and then I was barraged with students wanting a band-aid. I found myself searching for the tiniest scratches. I finally had to declare “no more band-aids”.

We like to pretend that we are not hurt when we are. We like to put band-aids on and then move on. Perhaps it is easier. Perhaps it is less embarrassing. Perhaps we feel we don’t have the time etc. But if we can bear it, it is most often best if we leave our wound open for healing. If we can see it and acknowledge it, if we can let others see and acknowledge it, then we are open to the best possible healing outcome.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……

-Meditate/pray look at your wounds. Let them bubble up for healing.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Go with the flow. Move with your life. Grow as it wants to grow.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-My AJ played an awesome soccer game. It was fun to watch.

-Errands done.

-The weather just seemed to call for comfort foods……stuffed cabbage it was.

-Life is good.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
