For your consideration…..

We have a brief message today. It is exactly this “Sometimes your role is to be an observer.”

At first this sounds so easy. But for some of us, when we think about it, we realize it can be very difficult. I readily admit, I am one of them. My human design dictates that I can always think up a plan and implement it. The problem is that is not always my role to play.

For example, it is one thing to watch our babies struggle to master a toy. We laugh and celebrate their tenacity recognizing they are learning and growing. As they grow and the lessons get bigger it is much harder for us to watch them struggle.  Or think about being a trainer in your workplace. So often it is much easier to just do the job yourself but it defeats the end goal.

I have a friend that has debilitating arthritis. She struggles with the simplest of tasks i.e. turning on the coffee pot, opening a jar, getting a coat on etc. As I watched her one day, she just knew I was ready to jump in to help her. Before I could she said,

“Chris, I know this is hard to watch but I have to do it myself. I will ask when I need help.”

Those words exemplify today’s message. Sometimes our role is just to observe.

We can be good observers by being ready with support, encouragement and bearing witness. We can send love, blessings and plant seeds of HOPE.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…….

-Meditate/pray letting your authentic self take the lead.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Drink lots of water.

-Journal what you are grateful for. Update your vision board.

What made me smile yesterday…..

-A completely free day.

-A snooze in.

-A beautiful warm day perfect for taking down the outdoor Christmas decorations.

-Plants replanted.

-Overdue cleaning.

-Sitting down finally with a book.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
