For your consideration……

Our message today is about pursuing the  journey to finding and aligning our spiritual self.

We joke a lot about those children who always ask “why”. We are children and learners all of our life. The “why” may be to a more complex subject but we still have it. It is still there. We always have the question. What we do with it makes all of the difference.

Certainly there are some people who feel this lifetime is all there is and their sole purpose is to live it as best they can.

But most people feel there is more to it than that. Where we came from, why we are here, is there heaven, do we have more than one lifetime; are all questions we work at solving.

As I looked at Facebook this morning, I saw a friend eloquently describing how her and her family would spend the day worshiping and what joy it brought to her.

It caused me to remember many conversations I have had with my friend, Yvette. Many times we have discussed where we are in our spiritual journey and how it has changed.

And that is key to today’s message. The journey is ours….unique to us. No matter what our religion is, if it brings us joy, happiness, answers our questions and brings us love and peace, it is perfect.

If we find that our religion has taken us as far as it can and we need to change religions to grow. We should change religions without guilt. Maybe we do that several times. That is perfect.

If we celebrate no particular religion at all but pursue our spiritual journey picking out our own path through various other avenues. That is perfect.

If we feel closest to God out in nature and we communicate with him there. That is perfect.

The key to today’s message it that there are as many avenues to aligning our spirit with God as there are people. One shoe does not fit all. Walking our own path and the perseverance of that journey is what is highlighted and honored today.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take……
