Tree of Peace

Josephine Wall

For your consideration…..

Virtues are essential traits of good behavior. We were born with the seeds of virtue in our authentic self. Throughout our life we hone them…..HOPEfully. Each of us has worked on and developed our virtues identifying their priority and importance to who we are. They become the character rules  by which we decide to conduct our lives. If we let ourselves down, usually we have not lived up to the standards of virtue we expect of ourselves. It is important to understand that we are works in progress. While honest assessment is good, judgement is not. The difference being the way we view ourselves. Honest assessment carries good energy necessary for growth. Judgement stops us in our tracks while we beat ourselves up and carries negative energy.

Now here is the message we are being given today. We are all different. We are all necessary for the good of all because we are all part of the Oneness of all. The life experiences that have made us who we are and shaped our virtues are our own. They are the filters through which we see life. Everyone has different filters because everyone has developed their virtues and prioritized them according to their own life experience necessary to their own life purpose.

We need to recognize that and accept that as we use our virtues to live our best life, they may or may not match those who cross our path. And that is ok. Certainly we seek out people with like mind who share our virtues. But life forces us to interact with people with either different filters or people who are just not living their best life. We may or may not know why they are in our life. But we can safely assume that living our virtues as well as we can is always the best choice.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray. Focus on  your authentic self. Meditating helps us stay centered.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Journal those virtues you hold dear. Be grateful for them.

What made me smile yesterday….

-Alex is learning to be a good cook. She is adventurous whipping out a new recipe to take to a BBQ.

-Shopping done in record time.

-My high school friend, Carol, came for an overnight.

-A good class reunion…..just the way they should be….laid back and casual.
