For your consideration……

Life can feel like a pressure cooker. That sounds ominous. But pressure cookers like anything else when used properly are a good thing.

We are being reminded today that like a pressure cooker we need to pay attention to and monitor ourselves….our own lives. We need to watch and be aware when the pressure is getting to be too much. And we need to make adjustments accordingly. That would mean to let go of judgement…. Or back down on some expectations…. Or take a vacation….. Or re-assign some of our workload….. Or go for a jog…..Or step back and take some deep breaths. You get the picture. It is whatever works for you.

Now here is the bigger picture. The more of us who take care of ourselves the better the world. Individual responsibility…monitoring our pressure keeps the pressure of the world in check.

Remember, under the right amount of pressure, coal is turned into diamonds. That is the goal. That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate/pray. There is just no better way to keep our “pressure cooker” in check.

-Drink lots of water.

-Take in at least 10 deep breaths outdoors.

-Take 5. Step back and relax for at least 5 minutes alone. If that means going into the bathroom and closing the door, so be it. Whatever it takes, just chill for a few.

-Journal what you are grateful for. What went right today?

What made me smile yesterday…..

-Lunch with friend, Kathy. Persistance paid off. We have been trying to get together for a month.

-AJ got a Grand Slam!

-Alex is officially a Lt jg. Awesome, Babycakes.

-I just love sister-in-law, Cathy, not working. We get to stay in touch on a regular basis.

-Jack and Jody had a baby girl. Congratulations to the whole family.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
