For your consideration…..

I can not begin to count the times that I have said or people have said to me, “I can’t meditate. My mind just keeps jumping from thoughts and tasks to other thoughts and tasks.”

I am not surprised that I woke up with “Learn To Be Still” running through my head or that it came into my morning meditation.

“Learn To Be Still”

The Eagles

It’s just another day in paradise
As you stumble to your bed
You’d give anything to silence
Those voices ringing in your head
You thought you could find happiness
Just over that green hill
You thought you would be satisfied
But you never will-
Learn to be still

We are like sheep without a shepherd
We don’t know how to be alone
So we wander ’round this desert
And wind up following the wrong gods home
But the flock cries out for another
And they keep answering that bell
And one more starry-eyed messiah
Meets a violent farewell-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

Now the flowers in your garden
They don’t smell so sweet
Maybe you’ve forgotten
The heaven lying at your feet

There are so many contradictions
In all these messages we send
(We keep asking)
How do I get out of here
Where do I fit in?
Though the world is torn and shaken
Even if your heart is breakin’
It’s waiting for you to awaken
And someday you will-
Learn to be still
Learn to be still

You just keep on runnin’
Keep on runnin’

There are as many reasons as there are people as to why we can not just be alone with and within ourselves. Many of those reasons are based in fear, laziness or prioritization.
Stillness is where we find our wholeness. It is where we find our authentic self. It is where we find our life purpose. It is where we find our Guidance. We were created in perfection and God’s love.  So there is nothing to fear in the silence of ourselves because it totally comes from love. Again you may not like what you hear but it comes from love and you will feel that. If you “feel” something else, simply stop, get up, walk to a door or open a box, and ask your Ego to step out for a while. You want to hear what your Guidance has to say to your authentic self. And you want to ask questions knowing the answers will be for your highest good and the highest good of all.
Laziness or “I don’t have the time.” are indicators of priorities out of balance. You are the center of your life. You must be if you are to reach your full potential. “Too busy to pause,” often indicates chaos or going against the flow. Challenges just keep jumping in our path until we finally have to just throw up our hands in surrender. The Universe has a way with of running interference if we stray to far from our path. Don’t get frustrated. Get still. That is the HOPE. And so it is.
Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…..
-Meditate/Pray…..get still, listen, trust what you hear.
-Drink lots of water. Water not only provides us with nutrients. It cleanses us and helps us find clarity
-Get some exercise. Go for a walk or jog. Stretch.
-Sit outside in silence.
-Take in at least 10 deep breaths outdoors.
What made me smile yesterday……
-Ahhhh peaceful Stillwater.
-A great walk. The buoys are in marking the river and channels, the flowers are planted in the park and the freighters and boats are out doing their thing. Summer has officially begun.
-AJ’s soccer tournament is working out after all.
-No TV. No news.
-Alex got a great jog in and sounds great….more like Alex than she did in the beginning of the week. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox, that’s the spirit, Babycakes.
Love, Blessings and Gratitude,
Chris
