Weight of the World

Ron DiCianni

For your consideration…..

Once again we are being asked to look at what is “on our plate”. But today it is much more specific. We  are being asked to look for things that do not belong to us. This message is much more tied to our spirit.

We are good spirits trying to do good. But like anything else too much of a good thing is no longer good. Specifically picking up someone else’s burden and carrying it whether they asked us to or not. There is a fine line between help and support and taking the burden on yourself.

Women are especially guilty of this. We always are trying to fix booboos and make everything better for our family and then we carry it over into our friends and workplace. It is what we do. We are fixers and multi-taskers and be are good at it.

But we are being asked to become “wise women” and take a step back and think before we run in and solve someone else’s problem. Why do we think we are continually bailing out the same people over and over? Because there is a lesson they are not getting and we as enablers are contributing to the problem.

Wise women support and comfort. They listen and hear. They offer suggestions and help. They leave the decisions, work plan and heavy lifting to the person with the problem. Bless them. And then they let it go. They do not take the burden onto themselves.

This is tough for some of us….maybe even most of us…..but it is the best way to love both the other person and ourselves. Make sense? That is the HOPE.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…….

-Meditate….tap into your inner self and ask for the next step of “your” life journey.

-Drink lots of water.

-Spend time outdoors. Get barefoot if you can. Take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-What is troubling you? Call it up, bless it and release it for healing. For those who are more visual, write them down, release them and then burn them.

-Tap into your Guidance. For Christians this is a Holy Week. Go within and reflect on the support we have 24/7 and the love that is behind it.

-Have fun.

What made me smile yesterday……

-An unexpected beautiful weather day.

-A good book.

-A happy family.

-Completing tasks.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
