For your consideration……

I love the message today for how it is being delivered. It was given with some humor as if to say, “Hey, a thought on something you might want to pay attention to. Just a little tip. But don’t dwell on it. Everything is ok.”

I especially love it because as my students this week struggled with poetry, I tried to get them to lighten up with it. Don’t be stressed. Poetry is one place where you can use your imagination. Have fun. We talked about how it can be used to deliver a message softly but powerfully. I drew their attention to their favorite singers. So for this message to come through with the humor of using “angry birds”, I knew exactly the tone of the message. It is a big affirmation to me.

So what is the message? Today’s message is again talking about anger and managing it. But it is specific to those we love. We get angry at those we love more than anyone else? That’s just life. We are reminded of that. And we are also reminded to remember it is “because” we love them so much that we get angry with them. The more we care, the more invested we are in all that they are, the more opportunities for anger as well as love and joy.

If we are in their heart and they in ours, the priority is that love. That is the focus. We can get angry but we don’t have to “peck” at each other to drive the point home. They know our heart and we know theirs. Say what you have to say from that place of love and let it go. Maybe they will make good choices, maybe they won’t. It doesn’t matter. You are there invested in them. You know it and they know it. Your love will be the common thread that carries us through. That is the HOPE.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE actions steps anyone can take…..

-Meditate. Breath, relax and let go.

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Relax and play. Recharge your batteries.

-Do a “T” chart on your partner, friend, kids etc. On the left write why they hold such a special place in your heart. Fill in the right side as you need to ….. as those things come up that make you angry.

What made me smile yesterday……

-A great day shopping with Mary.

-We had a fun and delicious lunch at Ichebon’s

-Alex and her Dad. She knew just who to call for the name of a song she wanted. Name that tune is all about them.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
