For your consideration….

We have all heard many sayings about moments that create a picture for us about just how long that is.

“In a jiff.”

“In a blink of an eye.”

“Before I knew it.”

A moment creates a picture of something fleeting.

Simply put, our life is just a series of moments. Life throws joys, obstacles, grief, challenges in front of us. Life throws the proverbial “kitchen sink” at us.

That fleeting moment is gone. We have this one. Can we catch it? No, it is gone already. What did we do with it? Nothing you say, because we can never really catch it. That is why those pictures that we infrequently get at just the right moment are so precious. It is because in life we can not catch and hold a moment.

We can not catch them. Yet we know that each is important. So how do we impact these fleeting moments?

Each moment is a choice of regret or HOPE. Are we looking back with regret? Or are we looking forward with HOPE.

It is easy to look back with regret because we know what it looks like. We have seen it. HOPE is harder because we do not always know what that is going to look like for us. It requires faith. Faith in yourself and faith in the universe and your creator.

Well, you say, if you can’t catch a moment how can I make this choice? You make it by the attitude you are wearing. Are you “Doom and Gloom”? (I have to put that in for Bruce). Or are you ready and open for what the next moment brings? Excitement would be great. Confidence is great. But few can wear those everyday 24/7. Some days we do. But it is not always sustainable. So those other days why not just be open in the faith of infinite possibilities and HOPE?

I choose HOPE. What about you?

Bit by bit, piece by piece, hope by hope action steps anyone can do…..

-Be a gambler, choose HOPE

-Plant something or go out and smell, touch, talk to something you have planted

-Say to yourself 10 times, “I am perfect and ready for my life purpose to unfold. I am ready to take action.”

-For every cup of coffee you drink, drink at least one glass of water.

-Take 10 deep breaths outdoors.

– Pause for as long as you can. Journal anything you think or feel.

What made me smile yesterday….

-I volunteered at the Arvin Golf Outing. It honors a local hero Bob Arvin who died in Vietnam. This foundations raises scholarship money for local graduating Seniors. It always makes me smile working with friends and meeting new ones.

-I didn’t have to cook. I brought leftovers home.

-I got all of my shopping done for a dinner I am doing tonight and my weekend retreat.

Blessings and Gratitude,

Chris
