For your consideration…

We have had lots of messages about change, accepting change, attitudes towards change, our personal power and change. Today’s message is specific to “skill sets” and change.

We know that every single moment brings change. We don’t always feel like change is happening but it is. And we are changing. We are aging, we are acquiring more experiences, our attitudes are evolving, we see things differently, etc. And we develop new skill sets to help us.

Through change we adapt. Sometimes we adapt out of necessity. Sometimes we adapt out of choice. No matter the reason, we have a choice on how we feel about it. We have all heard the saying, “aging gracefully.” Some people would say, “What choice do we have?” But we do have a choice. We can be comfortable about where we are at in the evolution of our life….or not.

It isn’t just about adapting in aging. We must adapt in other things as well. Moving to a new area requires some adapting. Our attitude makes all of the difference. As our work changes we also have to adapt. For instance, as we excel in our work we receive promotions. Eventually those promotions have led away from the hands-on experience we have. We find ourselves separated from the work. This can be either good or bad. It depends on what we “feel‘ about it. We may love the achievement and perks of the promotions and the job. Or we may miss the connection with the product. Some examples may be, engineers who advance to management, nurses and doctors who move to other patient care or teaching.

Our message today reminds us that change requires adaptation. How we adapt, our attitude towards adapting makes all of the difference. We have the power of choice. We always have a choice.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Adapt gracefully.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A chill Christmas morning….well at least until it was time to pack up the car.

-That tense little moment passed quickly.

-It was a beautiful warm Christmas day.

-Fun with family.

-A beautiful meal, wonderful and thoughtful gifts and a relaxing day.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
