For your consideration…

This is such a great message. The difference between doing nothing and taking the bull by the horns and doing what we can is immeasurable. We don’t have to have all of the answers. We don’t have to have the entire plan. No, we just have to do what we can do and let the rest develop. For sure, we will be far better off than we would have been had we done nothing at all.

So how do we set ourselves up for success? Here are some ideas.

-Make a plan for eating healthier. Notice what we are putting in our mouths each and every time something goes there.

-Make a plan for getting in some exercise. Make time for it. Be sure and include those benign times when we get exercise doing everyday chores ie; grocery shopping, parking lot walking, stair climbing, walking the dog etc. Remember that there are a lot of arm chair exercises we can do. I can testify that the OT exercises I have been doing on my hands has had enormous success. There are also leg and arm exercises we can do while watching TV. Investigate how we can include more exercise in our day even if we are short on time for the gym.

-Meditation, mindfulness and pray time. Each and everyone of us need alone time each and every day with ourselves and our Guidance. The benefits are immeasurable.

-Surround ourselves with people and things that we love. I remember John F. Kennedy Jr.’s announcement of his mother’s death where he said she died surrounded by the people, books and things that she loved. We might pause and think about who and what things bring us comfort. Children have their favorite blanket or stuffed animal that comforts them. What things comfort us ie; favorite clothes, warm sheets, an open window, books, foods etc.

-Journal your dreams.

-Ponder our goals and set steps in place to accomplish them.

-Be conscious of what we are grateful for.

Remember, NO JUDGMENT. We are simply being asked to notice these things and do the best we can. Some days we will be more successful than others. That is ok. We need to celebrate what we accomplish. Focus on that versus what we did not.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Meditate/pray..ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all.

-Remember our power.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A chill morning.

-We love having Moose with us. Knock on wood, he seems to be honoring our electronic fence.

-Catching up with Jodie.

-Our annual Chesterfield Ladies Christmas dinner. It is always great to catch up.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
