For your consideration…

You are probably wondering how on earth today’s blog title and Pete the Cat connect. I did too. The message came in via the song that goes to the Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons book. The song goes like this. “My buttons, my buttons, my four groovy buttons.” Pete is thrilled with his shirt and its buttons but one by one they pop off. “Oh NO!” Pete says. Then the author asks “Does Pete get upset?” The answer is “Goodness no, buttons come and buttons go.” Pete just goes on singing his song until all of the buttons are gone. Still Pete does not get upset because “Buttons come and buttons go but I still have my belly button.” And Pete just keeps going on singing his song.

Pete the Cat, his groovy buttons and belly button are just metaphors for Us, our life and our Core being.

Situations, problems, stages of life all come and they go but at our core we are still who we have always been. So it is important that we protect our Core. We accept in only truth and love and reject all else as peripheral “white noise.”

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Protect your Core. nourish your Core. Remember who you are and always have been.

What made me smile yesterday…

-A lazy day.

-A good book.

-I traveled to several of my favorite farm markets to find them closed. I guess I can scratch that off my to do list.

-Catching up with Jackie.

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
