“We are injured and hurt emotionally…

not so much by other people or what they say or don’t say…

but by our own attitude and our own response.”

Maxwell Maltz

For your consideration…

I think today’s message goes hand in hand with yesterday’s message, “I Have The Power.” Today’s message is exactly where we need to put our personal power in action. It is a perfect example of choice.

When someone hurts us emotionally, it is a decision point for us. It is the time where we stop and say, “Wait, is it true?” Because the reality is it is not unless we say it is true. It is not unless we believe it.

Our question should be, “Why am I letting this hurt me?” “What do I believe about myself that I am allowing this?”

Like animals, humans have instincts. We sense people’s strengths and weaknesses. And yes, some people prey on the weakness to seek control. But they can not take our control unless we let them. People may think they know our weaknesses but that is an illusion if we hold onto our power.

Remember, truly powerful people add to their power by helping others do the same.

That is the HOPE. And so it is.

Bit by bit, piece by piece, HOPE by HOPE action steps anyone can take…

-Affirm…“I am loved.”

-Meditate/pray…ask…”What is my next step for my highest good and the highest good of all?”

-Drink lots of water.

-Get outdoors and take in at least 10 deep breaths.

-Use your power for the highest good of yourself and others.

What made me smile yesterday…

-Getting Alex off on time and still making it to school in plenty of time.

-A half day of school.

-Errands run.

-Catching up with Vicki, Jody and Alex.

-I am still laughing about our little class twins. Coming into the classroom on Tuesday they had these grins that said something was going on. They were asked about it and they said, “Oh, we were just talking about Mommy and Daddy taking a bath together.” giggle giggle

Love, Blessings and Gratitude,

Rev. Chris
